RHI for Domestic Residential Properties

The Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme is a Government scheme that gives money to householders to help them buy renewable heating technologies, such as Thermomax & Varisol solar thermal collectors, Kingspan Solar flat plate panels and Aeromax Plus heat pumps.

How Much Are These Grants Worth?
£300 – Solar Thermal Grant
Applicable products: Thermomax & Varisol Vacuum Tubes and Kingspan Solar Flat plate. Voucher valid for 3 months

£850 – Air Source Heat Pump Grant
Applicable Products: Kingspan Aeromax Plus. Available only to houses not heated by gas from the grid.
Voucher valid for 5 months

As from October 2012, the Renewable Heat Incentive will expand to cover the domestic sector and the Green Deal will come into force, so this is a short-term scheme making one-off payments that will also allow the Government to learn more about what people think of these technologies and how they perform in a variety of conditions

When RHI goes live in October 2012, all of the installations that qualify for the premium payment will qualify for full RHI, and installations going back to July 2009 may also qualify for inclusion. House holds will be eligible for RHI payment for every kWh that is generated. The payments per kWh will be consulted on later this year.
